MCAS Homework Parent App View

We have only just started using MCAS.

Parents are reporting that they can't expand the individual homeworks via the arrow in the top right corner to show more detail.

We have the Google integration set up as our homework is set in Google Classroom.

Via the MCAS app or the web browser version, we also can't view which subject has set the homework. Any help appreciated!

Staff type

We are currently printing staff timetables for the teachers and i have noticed that staff types are not consistent, some teachers have staff type 'teacher' and other teachers have staff type 'other' some are with additional roles ee HOY and HOD roles some without regardless they are inconsistent, I have checked all contracts in staff profiles and they are correct. Any suggestions please? thank you

Is there a way to not having to reselect cells after adding comment to add attendance code?

Updating teachers of changes within Bromcom

Is there a way that I am missing of updating teachers of an individual about changes - for instance relating to SEND - within Bromcom, and can I do this to all of their teachers without having to pick out each one? Obviously the system knows who teaches them, but I can't see a way to send a group message/update.

Parents Evenings with rotations

Good morning,

We have a Parents Evening taking place following a KS3 Design timetable rotation. The parents evening was set up prior to the rotation, which took place this week and the staff attached to these new groups do not appear on the Outstanding Bookings page.

The staff would like to see the parents of the children they've taught until this week, not those they have seen perhaps once since the rotations took place.

My question is really regarding the set up of the parents evening: what date does Bromcom use to set up the class lists for this event? The date of the parents evening or the date when the event is created?

How do other schools set up the parents evenings in light of rotations?

Bulk Register Comments

I am trying to bulk add register notes to a random group of students on different days throughout a given week. When we do this through a selection list and then 'bulk attendance' it says it cannot overwrite an existing attendance mark (even though there is no mark as it is in the future).

We do not want to pre-populate with a mark in case a student is unwell on the day. It is just a comment that is needed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, if I delete reports from our DMS, will they also be automatically deleted from other areas of Bromcom such as MCAS, Student Portal & Student Profile Page? Also, is it 'safe' to delete the entire contents of the DMS, or will it cause any knock-on issues?

Changed class codes in Nova-T

Hi,

We have changed some class codes in Nova-T and imported the TT to Bromcom, which has created new classes.

The studen memberships are still in the old class codes on Bromcom.

Should we delete the new classes in Bromcom, change the class codes of the current classes in Bromcom to match Nova-T, and then do another import?

Wales Attendance Return 2026

Last Friday's release included the Wales Attendance Return 2026 (required for end of May for secondaries and end of July for primaries). Release notes are available here and here. Additionally, the summary report has been updated to produce English or Cymraeg versions.

This means the return is ready for LAs and schools to begin their preparations for training and data submission (Modules > Census > Attendance).

Welsh Government released an updated summary specification on Wednesday, which we will implement in plenty of time for the secondary return. When we receive confirmation of whether a new validation file is required, we will being the necessary development work. Keep an eye on ‘What’s New’ for updates.
