Bromcom Community Guidelines

The Online Community is an informal space for Bromcom users to network with one another and share knowledge and best practice for the benefit of everyone.

The platform is provided by Bromcom, but driven by users.

Bromcom will also be an active member of the Community, posting helpful content including guidance, key dates, links to live events and top tips. We also want to find out how we can make the Community even more helpful for our schools.

This platform has grown very quickly and it is important to establish some guidelines to make sure that it continues to be a useful, enjoyable, safe and positive online place where people want to go to learn more about Bromcom.

Here are a few guidelines:

  1. The Community’s membership is intended for Bromcom users including data managers, office managers, IT managers, administrators, timetablers, exam officers, senior leadership and anyone with a prominent Bromcom role at your school or trust. It is a members only Community and we reserve the right to choose who is invited to join based on appropriate roles within a school or trust.

  1. Please add posts or replies that add value to the Community in terms of questions, responses, helpful advice and good practice.

  1. Constructive feedback is welcome. However, complaints about the product or service are better directed at the customer care team ([email protected]) or your customer success manager.

  1. The Community is not the best place to report a specific bug or issue, but we understand why you might first use the Community to check if others are experiencing the same issue.

  1. Bromcom aims to provide useful, up to date information based on what we know at the time. We operate in good faith and cannot guarantee the accuracy of any information provided.

  1. Be kind and respectful to other Community members, including Bromcom staff. Everyone is working flat out to help you have the best possible Bromcom experience and the Community can only thrive if it is based on good will between everyone involved.

  1. Please redact any screenshots showing personal data in order to avoid GDPR data breaches. Please do not share personal data including pasted text, attached files and links to files containing such data. Posts and replies containing GDPR data breaches will be immediately deleted. The member posting the breach and their employer will be informed and their account may be suspended or posted content may be premoderated.

  1. Please avoid posting content that breaches any employer terms of service, copyright law, safeguarding protocols or common standards of fairness and decency.

  1. It’s a members’ only Community so Fight Club rules should apply. What’s said in the Community should stay in the Community. If you want others to share the good news about Web Wednesdays or Darren’s user groups then let us know so they can join.

  1. We reserve the right to move, edit, delete, moderate, hide and repurpose content that is posted on the Community. We will let members know via DM when we move, edit or delete content. We may hide content that does not add value to the Community without prior notice in order to increase visibility of posts that benefit the Community in accordance with our guidelines.

  1. We will always try to be democratic and fair by sharing our process and using surveys and polls to get helpful information.

  1. We reserve the right to suspend or remove membership for those who choose not to follow these guidelines. We do not think we will ever need to revoke anyone’s membership and such action would only ever be the last resort after at least one conversation with the member concerned.

  1. The guidelines and the Community in general are works in progress, which is subject to change based on changing information, priorities and requirements.
