Welcome to the Bromcom Online Community
The Bromcom Online Community is an informal space where our users can connect, share expertise and best practices, and learn from one another. Although Bromcom provides the platform, its strength comes from the contributions of everyone involved.
As an active member of the Community, Bromcom will share guidance, key dates, links to webinars and events, top tips, and seek your feedback on how we can continually improve the experience for all our schools.
This platform has expanded rapidly, so we have established a few guidelines to ensure it remains a useful, safe and positive environment for all.
1. Membership
Membership of the Community is exclusively for Bromcom users in roles such as:
Data Manager
Office Manager
IT Manager
Administrator
Timetabler
Exams Officer
Senior Leader
We reserve the right to approve membership requests based on the appropriateness of your role within a school or trust.
2. Participation
Add value: Please post questions, responses, and advice that benefit the Community.
Constructive feedback: We welcome suggestions, but product or service complaints should go to our Customer Care Team at [email protected].
Reporting issues: The Community isn’t intended for detailed technical support; however, you may use it to see if others are experiencing similar issues before contacting support.
3. Accuracy of Information
Bromcom strives to share accurate, up-to-date information and operates in good faith, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy of every post. The Community is a peer-to-peer space where members, including staff from schools, trusts, support centres and local authorities, share their own knowledge and experience. Information provided by members does not represent official Bromcom advice or support, and Bromcom cannot accept responsibility for the accuracy or outcomes of such discussions.
4. Conduct
Respect and kindness: Treat fellow members and Bromcom staff with courtesy. A collaborative spirit ensures the Community flourishes and remains beneficial to all.
Confidentiality: This is a closed, members-only‑ space. Please keep discussions within the Community unless you have consent to share externally.
5. Data Protection & GDPR
Redact personal data: Remove or obscure any personal information in screenshots before posting.
No personal data: Do not share personal details, files or links containing such data.
Posts breaching GDPR will be removed without warning. We will inform the member and their employer, and repeat offences may lead to account suspension or pre-moderation‑ of posts.
6. Respect for Policies
Do not post content that contravenes your employer’s terms of service, copyright law, safeguarding protocols, or standards of decency.
7. Moderation and Content Management
Bromcom reserves the right to move, edit, delete, hide or repurpose posts to uphold these guidelines. We will normally notify members via direct message when content is amended or removed. Content that does not add value may be hidden without notice to improve overall visibility of beneficial posts.
8. Decision Making
We aim to be transparent and fair, using polls and surveys to guide Community decisions.
9. Enforcement
Noncompliance with these guidelines may result in suspension or removal of membership. Such measures will only be taken as a last resort, and normally ‑following at least one discussion with the member concerned.
10. Continuous Improvement
These guidelines and the Community itself are evolving. We will update them as our needs, priorities and information change.
11. Inactive Accounts
To ensure our Community remains active and engaged, any member account that has not been accessed for 12 consecutive months will be deactivated. We will send reminder emails one month and one week before deactivation to give you the opportunity to log in and retain your membership. Should your account be deactivated, you may request reinstatement by contacting our Customer Care Team.
