Following a system update on Friday, 4th July 2025 at 22:39, SMS messages sent via the MIS failed to deliver. The issue was detected through our error logs on the morning of Monday, 7th July at 10:00. Upon identification, our team acted promptly and successfully resolved the issue by 10:15 the same day.

Timeline of Events:

  • Issue Start Time: 04/07/2025 at 22:39

  • Issue Identified: 07/07/2025 at 10:00

  • Issue Resolved: 07/07/2025 at 10:15

Impact and Resolution:

  • Failed Messages: All SMS messages sent via the MIS during this period—including Manual, Scheduled, Attendance, and Behaviour Watchlist messages—were affected and will appear as failed in the system. Parents/contacts would not have received the messages.

  • Resending Messages: There is no automated process to resend these failed messages. If the message is still applicable, please resend it.

  • SMS Credits: No credits were used, as the MIS was unable to establish a connection with the SMS provider.

Our Cloud team has completed a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and identified a failure in the update deployment process as the source of the issue. Mitigation measures have now been implemented to prevent this from recurring.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.
