Upcoming Changes to Email Integration in Bromcom [UPDATED]

Update 31/07/2025: Due to some issues found during testing, the release date for this change now now moved to the evening of Thursday 7th August 2025.

Update 25/07/25: I checked with Microsoft and they have changed the deadline when they will be deprecating the service to March 2026 (previously September 2025). However, we still would advise you to make the necessary changes and testing well before the end of February.

We’re making email sending more secure — here’s what’s changing, and what’s not.

What’s Staying the Same

If you're currently using Bromcom’s email system or sending emails the usual way, nothing will change for now — no action is needed.

What’s New

We’re adding two new, more secure email options you can choose from:

  • Office365 SMTP (Email)

  • Google SMTP (Email)

When you choose one of these in your settings, you’ll see a "Grant Access" button. Clicking it lets you securely sign in to your email account.

Once you do, Bromcom will store the connection securely so you can send emails through your account safely and without re-entering your password every time.

These updates are designed to keep your data private and secure, while giving full support for sending emails through Google or Office365.

What You Need to Know

You should start switching and testing these new options from 7th August 2025.

After Microsoft will the old method of authentication in March 2026, they have not been more definite than this so I would advise all changes and testing to be complete before the end of February.

After they make this change the existing authentication will no longer work. If your system hasn’t been updated by then, you’ll see an error when trying to send emails.

Going forward, the new secure sign-in method will be required for sending emails successfully.
